BAK Battery Showcases Full Range of Cylindrical Products and Semi-Solid Polymer Cells at CNTE 2024 Defense Information Technology Expo

Today, Shenzhen BAK Power Battery Co., Ltd., a global leader in new energy solutions, made a striking appearance at the 13th China (Beijing) Defense Information Technology Equipment and Technology Expo, showcasing its full range of cylindrical products and semi-solid polymer cells. The company demonstrated its exceptional capabilities in military battery applications, contributing to the efficient, safe, and reliable energy upgrade of China’s defense forces.

The BAK semi-solid polymer lithium-ion cells on display are equipped with a mature wide-temperature chemistry system and excellent high-rate performance, perfectly addressing environmental challenges in high-latitude regions and areas with significant temperature differences between day and night. These cells enhance the endurance and high-power operation of electronic devices in various temperature conditions. Leveraging BAK’s extensive R&D and production experience in polymer lithium batteries, the semi-solid cells adopt a polymer + oxide composite system, achieving an energy density of over 350Wh/kg. They have successfully passed 3mm nail penetration and 150°C thermal chamber tests and are already in use in explosion-proof safety fields, demonstrating reliable performance under extreme conditions. Moving forward, BAK plans to continue optimizing this technology, maximizing its advantages in high energy density, safety, low expansion, low internal resistance, and wide temperature range to expand into more application scenarios.

BAK’s cylindrical cells also shone brightly at the expo, accelerating the intelligent, electrified, and cordless transition in the IoT era through their widespread use in smart homes, power tools, and green mobility. BAK adopts a dual-path product strategy, with high-capacity cells meeting long-range requirements and high-rate cells featuring an all-tab design, similar to large cylindrical batteries, to explore new avenues for enhancing lithium battery high-power performance. The latest generation of BAK’s all-tab small power batteries utilizes a high-nickel + silicon system, optimizing continuous discharge performance with an 80% reduction in internal resistance, 80% lower temperature rise, 50% faster charging time, 140% longer cycle life, and 130% extended endurance. These six features—high power, low internal resistance, low temperature rise, fast charging, long cycle life, and high capacity—provide a solid energy foundation for military applications.
